I love this bag! I got it because I have a small service dog due to military service PTSD. The trainers suggested we carry a dog “diaper bag” with essentials every where we go as well as a thier mat (they are trained to stay on their mat when commanded – like an invisible crate). I believe this could work fine for bigger dogs as well. A great plus is that it is a pretty bag. Most of the people in our program were men with big service dogs, but I am a small woman with a small service dog and didn’t want to carry a huge tactical backpack everywhere. When I saw this I was so excited! I can carry wet wipes, paper towels, hand sanitizer, a collaspible bowl, extra potty bags a chew toy and a flask of of water in the main compartment with room to spare. In the front pocket I can carry my phone, small wallet, chip stick, mask and keys. The straps carry my dog’s pad perfectly without bulk!!!This is one of the best purchases I have made! I love it so much! I have been using it about a month nowand it is well made and easy to use. I highly recommend!Read more

As someone who doesn’t carry a purse regularly, items like this with just enough organized storage to hold grip socks (if needed), a small credit card wallet, car keys, my cellphone, and a few other items like lip balm and sunglasses. I have a thicker yoga mat so it’s a squeeze to get the snap buckles closed but it does. If the straps were just an inch longer it would be a perfect fit. It’s not enough of an issue for me to return it but maybe someone from Gaiam will read this!Read more

I take this bag with me to hot yoga 3-4 times a week. I like minimalistic carriers for my mat, because I prefer letting it breathe and air out instead of enclosing it inside a bag, especially after a hot, sweaty class. However, I also like having a place to hold a small towel, my keys, phone and other miscellaneous small items, which this is perfect for. The charcoal gray is a nice neutral color that matches pretty much everything, and there’s even a nice piece of metallic hardware for the logo.I love everything about this carrier except for the straps. The large one for your shoulder and the small ones that hold the mat are made of the same super slippery material, and the buckles don’t hold the straps’ length very well. One tiny tug and the straps slide through the buckles with little resistance, which ruins any amount of time you spend adjusting the straps to the right length. This is especially annoying for the mat, if (like me) you like having your mat rolled up nice and tight. The looser the straps slide out, the more unrolled your mat will get, which may even cause it to fall out. I’ve circumvented this issue by using a separate mat wrap from Gaiam to keep it rolled tightly. It’s inconvenient, but I’m happy with the rest of the bag, so I’ll continue to use it this way.For reference in the photos, I’m 5’3″.Read more

This is excellent. Ideal for a quick visit to yoga. I can fit in my cellphone, car keys, and even a small water bottle, and a face towel. I have a thick mat and it holds it perfectly. The strap that hold the mat is adjustable so it works for all kinds of mats. And the purse looks beautiful. Excellent quality. Very happy with my purchase.Read more

I received this item on August 15th 2019 I thought it looked nice, well made and didn’t clash with my yoga outfits. I started using it right away. 6 days a week. By October 1st it is ripping in two places, one where the shoulder strap begins and one seam rip on the bag itself. The straps do not hold tight on the mat making it awkward from the beginning. I am 2 weeks out from being able to send it back. I can not recommend this product.Read more

This “Gaiam Yoga Mat Bag – Wander Free Yoga Mat Carrier Pouch Tote” really is a neat idea, especially for women. Using this product means you no longer need to lug around a heavy purse or wallet when you go to exercise: you can simply put all the essentials in this yoga pouch and you’re good to go! However, be aware that this yoga pouch really is just for your essentials: with dimensions coming in at 9” x 3” x 5”, along with a 7” x 5” zippered outer compartment, there isn’t a ton of space to store your things. I managed to squeeze in my phone, keys, my wallet, a chapstick, a mini-travel size hairbrush, and a small water bottle. This was enough space for me to get in the essentials, but if you need to travel with more items, this product may be too small for you.The yoga pouch carry strap is adjustable, so you can wear it cross-body, over-the-shoulder, or you can carry it by hand if you prefer. The mat carry-straps are also adjustable and seem large enough to fit most standard sized thin yoga mats. Unfortunately, I have to use a larger, thicker yoga mat when I am doing my exercises/stretches because I have arthritis in my hands, knees and back, so the thinner mats just don’t offer me enough support. My yoga mat was too large to use with this Gaiam yoga pouch, which was really disappointing. I can still use it to carry my gym essentials with me, but it definitely defeats the purpose and convenience that should come with using this product as it was intended. If you use a thin, standard size yoga mat, you would probably really enjoy this product. But if you’re like me and need a thicker, more supportive mat, I would highly suggest skipping this product. Three stars.Read more
