No no no. This is not a good yoga mat, honestly surprised this came from Gaim. The cork is inflexible crease when you roll the mat, I imagine those would turn into cracks quickly. And there is zero stick on the bottom, slides all over. Sadly returned 🙁 Read more

Just to highlight how my experience differs from others. I’m not sure if they changed something since those people left reviews, or I just got one of a good batch. * There was no odd/chemical/factory smell * I have no concerns about the cork cracking. It’s extremely thin, and securely glued to the rubber * Right out of the box, the mat laid pretty flat on the floor. There’s a little bit of curling, but it’s very minor, and the ends curl down. Overall, it seems like a great mat for a great price. I’ve had it for a week and use it at least daily. I don’t use it for yoga per se, mostly things like turkish get-ups, bridges, shinbox, etc. It’s not very squishy, but provides enough padding for me. It doesn’t stretch (e.g. during downward dog) or slip, and the cork surface is grippy and comfortable. Read more

The rubber backing is not that high quality, but it makes the mat lightweight. The cork feels like, well… Cork. I love it. Very natural. Good grip and it stays Warmer than regular yoga mat. but, when I tried to roll it the opposite direction to flatten it I made some deep dents in the cork which will not come out now. So be careful not to do that. I like it because I like lightweight natural things, but I bet there are more high quality mats out there. Read more

At first when I tried this at home- the cork felt dangerously slippery. In class it was great! I think it only becomes grippy once your hands start sweating a little. If you don’t sweat at all or have a cold studio with light poses I think it will be too slick. The bottom of the mat stays in place nicely. The other issue being it does not roll out flat and takes maybe a good chunk of class to lay flat. You cannot roll it in the reverse like the product photo is shown because the cork is too stiff and it will crease. I’m not sure what the general length of other mats are, and I usually don’t have this issue with others, but I’m almost 5’8 and had to slide myself down because my head or feet were off the mat a few times. So it seems a little short. Other than these issues its a beautiful mat! I’m sure just as good as the other expensive cork mats on the market. I will update this review if the wear does not keep up. I was so terribly disappointed with this mat. I do hot yoga and thought it would be more grippy than my Manduka. Wrong. It’s so slippery – even in a hot yoga class! So, I tried bringing a spray bottle of water to moisten it before class. Nope. It dried up before I could even get going. It only rolls one way and takes a full class to flatten out. If you try to roll the other way, it causes creases in the cork. I really did try to give it a good shot (two weeks), but it’s more slippery and less grippy than my Manduka (which can get real slick in a hot yoga class!). Disappointed and wouldn’t recommend or buy again. Read more

I really liked this mat. The cork was very comfortable and the mat was durable. I bought it because of the lower impact on the environment by buying cork instead of other materials. I returned it though because it wasn’t as wide as i would’ve liked. In comparison to other mats I have bought in the past there wasn’t a strange chemically/plastic smell and it was very comfortable. I would have kept it, or bought another version if there was a wider option, but sadly there wasn’t another cork wide version and if there was it was from a different company and it was drastically more expensive. I bought this to use as a yoga and general exercise mat. I give it points for comfort, and being lightweight. Other than that, it slides on my hard wood floors. Additionally, the end does not lay flat. Read more

I have had my mat for 7 years and has so much history and sweat along the way. Finally decided to get a new one. Rolled this out this morning to do my practice and it was awful. A lot thinner than I expected and I slipped in my first down dog. My hands and feet couldn’t get any traction on either cork side or the black side. Way disappointed. Read more
