Sadly this is not a good strap. It’s well made and looks great but that’s where it ends. The strap will not hold the mat closed. The second I put it down the strap opens. The strap is also too small. Id you a Manduka Pro or GRP or other 85″ mat the carry part of the strap end ups too short. Going to return. Read more

Ok, the secret to this strap is that when you put it on your mat, put one end on and then put the other end on, but in the opposite “direction.” When you do that it counters itself and stays put very tightly. I turned mine every which way and even shook it a bit and it did not budge. It is a very pretty strap and also sturdy. Read more

This strap relies on tension in order to hold you mat in place. If you pick you mat up, by the mat itself (say, you’re getting out of your car) the straps tend to fall off. Any time you hold you mat not by the straps, the straps will adjust on you and sometimes fall off. When they do fall off, the loop that was created to go around your mat has now collapsed and depending on what’s in your hands, it’s hard to open back up again to go around your mat. I would not recommend this product. Read more

Hi all – last year I bought a different brand strap from Amazon. I lost it and decided to replace it with this Manduka. The ratings were strong and I’m happy with my Manduka Pro mat and my Manduka yoga strap. Compared to other straps – this one does not stay closed tightly. It’s not that it falls apart immediately, but more that it doesn’t stay secure as you pick up and put down the mat. (or perhaps, put it in your car or set it down in your office) Other straps stay together tighter and won’t come loose on you. Manduka really dropped the ball (or the mat, as you will probably drop your mat with this strap.) Read more

Have to admit… I didn’t read the full description and didn’t realize this was JUST the strap (totally my fault.) That being said, I kept the strap to use on another mat I already had. I do like the padded area on the shoulder strap, but I wish the straps around the mat could tighten further. If the mat tilts while on your shoulder, it’ll likely slip out of the loop and you drop your mat in the mud…like I did. Just something to be aware of, but like all Manduka products, it’s great quality and I’ll continue to use it. Read more

I absolutely love this yoga mat carrier. I have the manduka pro mat and this carrier works perfectly. The pro mat is heavy, but this carrier is well made and can handle the weight of the mat. In my experience, It doesn’t slide off of the mat when it is placed down. This carrier is super easy to put on and to take off. I highly recommend this carrier, especially if you own a manduka pro mat. Now that I own this yoga mat carrier, It is so much easier to carry my heavy yoga mat to and from the studio. Read more

It is a nice strap, great quality! The metal buckles of the strap may damage the edges of the mat depending on how the strap is tied around the mat. Avoid having the buckles by the mat edges. It damaged the edges of my brand new Manduka mat. Read more

Love this strap! I like how there is an extra padding for when it’s on your shoulder. The color is great and matches any yoga mat. I personally like the fact that there are no patterns, but I’m sure Manduka has other straps that have patterns. This strap is very sturdy and feels like great quality. I got one because my friend and I ride my her motorcycle to yoga, so this made it possible to hold the yoga mat when I sit on the back. I never felt like it was going to slip off or unroll, etc. Keep in mind, I also have a very nice, gripy Manduka yoga mat, so if yours is a bit slippery, I cannot vouch for that. Read more
